Established in 2025, the Canadian Hereford Foundation is dedicated to supporting the long-term success of the Canadian Hereford industry through strategic investment in youth development, education, leadership, research, innovation, and industry initiatives. The Foundation exists to preserve and advance the Hereford breed while creating opportunities that benefit Canadian Hereford Association members, commercial cattle producers, and future generations of the Canadian beef industry.
The Foundation supports the Canadian Hereford community by investing in youth development, education, leadership, research, and initiatives that strengthen the Hereford breed and the Canadian beef industry.
The Canadian Hereford Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors that includes representatives from the Canadian Hereford Association (CHA) Board, along with additional members and/or industry leaders who provide oversight and strategic direction for the Foundation’s initiative.
The Canadian Hereford Foundation is supported through charitable donations, fundraising initiatives, and planned giving. Contributions help fund programs and projects that advance education, youth initiatives, research, and the long-term sustainability of the Hereford breed in Canada.
Supporters may contribute through one-time donations, annual gifts, or estate and legacy planning. Charitable tax receipts are issued for eligible donations of $20 or more, and donors are recognized through the Foundation’s annual reporting and online platforms.
The Foundation’s signature fundraising event is the National Select Sale. Held annually, the sale brings together breeders and supporters from across Canada to raise funds that directly support the Foundation’s programs and future initiatives.
